There is a simple answer to that. Emotions. Do you notice that the closer the person is to us, the worse we treat them? A woman having a hard time talking with her boyfriend is a common occurrence.
You see siblings fight the way they do and husband and wife talk to each other they way they do because of all the emotions. You would not dare say something to other people something that you say in a fight with your sibling or spouse, would you?
The closer that we are to a person, the more we involve our emotions. If you are mad and irritated at your boss, you do not shout at him right away because you want to keep your job. But in a relationship that is run my emotions, we usually hold nothing back.
In order to resolve and prevent your guy from closing down on you, communicate with them using words. Do not use raw emotion in talking to them because this will seem like an attack to them and guys will end up distancing themselves more from you. It is hard to communicate with your boyfriend if you are going to appeal to him using raw emotions.
The solution? Since guys are a whole different species, use words to bring the message across.
For example: “<insert name or endearment here>, I am feeling sad because I feel that something has come between us. I do not want to lose you and I value our relationship so much. Can you please tell me what’s bothering you?”
Why can this method be effective? Here are the reasons:
1. There is no need for your man to read between the lines.
2. The problem is conveyed to him as-a-matter-of-factly. Give a man a clear problem and he will solve it according to the way a male brain works.
3. The way you expressed your emotions to him will make him want to be your knight in shining armor.
Ladies, it is very easy to show your emotions to your boyfriend. But this can scare them away. Hope that these simple tips can do wonders on your relationship so that it will no longer be hard to communicate with your boyfriend.
